Summary: Trouble collecting met data at portable tower, mounted and re-installed pressure sensor at permanent tower, caterpillar outbreak, downloaded data

Portable tower
We arrived at 13:00. It was partly cloudy and warm. Kathleen and I walked out to the met box and had trouble downloading data. Cove (over the phone) thought the power may have gone out at some point which reset the datalogger clock to year 2060. We cycled power and reset the clock on the datalogger. Cove will check on this next week.
Madeleine cleaned the sensors and I downloaded data.

Permanent tower
Plants continue to grow into the boardwalk out to the tower. There seems to be quite a bit of herbivory going on--we saw many cattail caterpillars Simyra insularis munching on the cattails. I took a photo and will post. Apparently these can jump into crop systems causing problems for crops such as maize and sorghum. They also tend have high parasitism ratesâ€”interesting. But overall there is very little literature about this species.

Madeleine mounted the pressure sensor inside the box using the drillâ€”looks much more secure now.
Kathleen cleaned sensors and I downloaded data.
