Summary: Calibrated Picarro and moved it to Marin, soil respiration measurements, calibrated FD sensors in field

We arrived at 9:05am. It was breezy, partly cloudy and a bit chilly. Madeleine took LI6400 measurements while I ran cal gases on the Picarro. The 100ppm N2O cal gas did not perform well and was running low so I also ran the 1ppm N2O and that looked much better. Otherwise, cal gases looked good. Mad noticed that the LI6400 screen was dark again and hard to read. We need to look at this in the lab.
Caleb, Leilei and Ryan arrived at 10am to pack up the Picarro and move it to Marin.
Kathleen measured veg height, LAI, and moisture point. I downloaded data. **Note: I put the PC card labeled â€œEEâ€ at Sherman by accident.
Mad and I ran the zero and span cal gases on the forced diffusion probes in the field. I think these will yield better calibration values compared to in the lab as these are at field temperatures and include all the appropriate resistances etc.
