Twitchell Rice: 2014-06-17 15:00:00 (DOY 168)
Author: Patty Oikawa
Others: Sara Knox, Kathleen

Summary: Rice green and growing. Adjusted rain gauge. Clip plots and veg height. Installed new DO probe. Met looked good.

We arrived at 2:00pm. The rice looked green and happy. Very sunny and warm. Kathleen and I did veg height and clip plots. Sara checked the data and installed a new DO probe 3cm above the soil surface. DO Calibration in field: M = 8.24/38.61 in (mg/L)/mV (aka ppm/mV) (@ 23C). Need to label probe next time (DO-08).

Sara checked the channels SHF are on the multiplexer: 16,17,18.
I noticed the PAR sensors did not look level when cleaning the sensors--need to check on this next time. I adjusted the rain gauge.

7500 readings:
CO2 = 390 ppm (same after cleaning)
H2O = 402 mmol m-3 (same after cleaning)
signal strength = 80.5% (80.6 after cleaning)
p = 101.66 kPa
t = 25.32 C

7700 readings:
CH4 = 1.86 ppm (same after cleaning)
RSSI = 53% (71% after cleaning)
Reservoir was full.

Met looked good.

Veg Height (cm): Tape measure from ground to top of plant
24, 26, 25, 25, 24, 26, 27, 23, 18, 29, 26, 27, 23, 23, 24, 25, 20, 23, 25, 24, avg = 24.4, stdev = 2.43
