Summary: Reinstalled Vaisala CO2 soil profiles. Raining!
| Varia 2014-01-29 I arrived about 2:30pm with Patty. It was overcast, warm and raining lightly. There was little to no wind. We reinstalled the Vaisala CO2 soil profiles. The PVC enclosures got new U-shaped fitting on top so the opening is pointed down. The existing rubber plugs don’t fit the new fittings tightly. We need to cut some pipe inserts to improve the fit. The 2 and 4cm PVC enclosures on the North profile did not seem to have a very tight connection to the ground. These may need to be reinstalled. The North profile got: 2cm, sn G0230061, 1% 4cm, sn Y1950005, 1%, 8cm, sn Y0710013, 3% The East profile got: 2cm, sn Y2030049, 1% 4cm, sn Z2720015, 1% 8cm, sn Y2009100, 3% The West (sometimes called South) profile got: 2cm, sn G0230062, 1% 4cm, sn Y0850004, 1% 8cm, sn Y1720006, 2% We did not check the functioning of the system. The probes tested okay in the lab, it was raining, the system only runs a few minute each half hour, and I did not have a computer handy to connect to the 10X. I should update the program so that you can turn everything one whenever you want. |
