Returned to Tonzi about 9:30PDT where Jaclyn was busy taking soil cores. The weather is clear, warm, and sunny with a little breeze. Talked to Mr. Tonzi about nothing of consequence. The trees still look happy and there is still some water in Tonzi’s pond.

I brought a new CO2 tank for the CO2 profile system. I calibrated the system with the old tank before swapping out.

Old tank 418.8ppm: Zero was off by +1ppm CO2, Span was off by almost -8ppm.

Then I calibrated with the new tank 384.08ppm: Span was off by about -7ppm. I re-zeroed and re-spanned a second time with the new tank. I’m hoping I did a better job calibrating the new tank against the God bottle. I’ll check the old tank in the lab. Old tank check out at 427.4ppm.

The current tanks at Tonzi CO2 384.08ppm 2100psi, N2 1680psi plus spare fresh N2 tank.

The tower web cam had stopped taking photos on July 21st. I’m not sure why, but I restarted both the computer and the camera and that fixed the problem.

The computer clock was about 2.5 minutes behind. I reset it with cell phone time at 9:51PST

I copied data.

I returned the tram car to the site. The tram car seems fine, but the charging station is dead. Both car batteries were at about 1V. I’m not sure why this happened, the charge controller should have kept them above 10V. Anyway, we will need to buy new batteries to start running again.

At the floor tower, all seemed well. I copied data. The computer clock was about 1 minute ahead. I reset it with cell phone time at 10:03PST.

Closed door on west sap flow enclosure that was left open last time I visited.
