Arrived about 9am with Jaclyn. Left Jaclyn at Tonzi and went to Vaira.

Returned from Vaira about 11am. A little bit of cloud passing over from the east but it burned off and became completely clear, sunny, and hot. A little bit of gusty wind from southwest. Grasses are dead, trees don't look quite as green as two weeks ago.

Checked and copied data from the Tower.

Ports 1-4 were lit on the CO2 profile system when I started a calibration. Calibration went okay. Zero was off 2.5+-0.7ppm, span was off +0.5+-0.7ppm. The CO2 solenoid seemed to be a little stuck at first. Cycling the solenoid and gas pressure seemed to fix it. Need a new CO2 tank.

Worked on cleaning up tower battery bank terminals. I had plans to replace the cables, but I think the batteries are not going to last much longer, so I just cleaned them up and will change them when new batteries are needed.

I checked on the sap flow systems. The one to the west of the Tower has a dead battery. I moved and rewired the solar panel to provide power during sunlight, but it still seems to be down. Maybe needs a new solar panel too. I disconnected the sap heaters.

The sap flow system to the south of the Tower seems functional.

The sap flow system to the east of the Tower didn't have power initially but I fixed loose connections of the battery and the data logger powered up but didn't seem to have a program and I could not make a connection from the Tower computer. I probably need to run a MD9 line to it. It also has 4MB memory so it could store data to be downloaded manually.

Sap flow to the east of the floor site is online and collecting data.

Tram was running.

I removed Rick Snyder's surface renewal equipment from the Tower. I will give it to Frank for return to Rick.

I did not have time to do spectral measurements.
