2010/8/5 Arrived about 1:30PDT with Jaclyn. The field looks green, but no standing water in ditches or north third. It was sunny, warm and clear with a good west wind. Jaclyn and I took soil core profiles up wind from the tower until about 2:30. The system seemed okay. LGR reporting: 12:31PST, 25.86C, 134.78Torr, 15.655usec, 10Hz, 1.816ppm Still running on Frank’s diaphragm pump. Lots of work on the bridge. The road east of the bridge seems to be getting heavy traffic. They have built a bridge over the ditch the runs along the south side of our field. It looks like there were new posts to put gates across the road on either side of the big bridge. We may have to access our site the back way through the marina. From Juan Mercado: “...there will be two new gates placed at the access road under the bridge. The gates may be closed on occasion but will never be locked. Netting will be placed along the gates to keep the giant garter snake from entering the bridge retrofit area. Your access though there will not be restricted. Caltrans' target completion date for this project is December 2011.” On the way in we saw Walt leaving with two trailers full of cows. I didn’t notice any cows in the field. |
