Summary: Tested HMP45, checked data logger batteries.

2012-10-09 I arrived about 9am PDT with Siyan. It was clear, sunny and mild with a light breeze from the east southeast. The field is very dry and golden but much of the litter is still standing. The trees have begun to brown. Siyan pointed out that if you were very still, you could hear snapping cracking sounds that seemed to come from the dead grasses. I compared the HMP45 (sn W0730037?) readings with the Vaisala lab standard: Temp: before = 14.7, Lab Standard = 15.5, after = 16.6 RH: before = 73.9, Lab Standard = 70.5, after = 67.4 The settling time of both sensors made the measurements difficult. I checked the internal battery voltages on the data loggers. The CR23x was at 2.53V and used OS 19, the CR10x was at 2.84V and used OS 23. Both seem okay. We forgot to bring a card to swap out the one on the CR1000. I ejected the existing card and moved its data to the netbook and reinserted the now empty card. The IRGA was sn 0041, the serial number on the sonic is long gone due to sun exposure but I could faintly read the UC tag 011004886. I looked it up it is sn 000028. |
