Summary: Tried to swap 7500A head, collected 23x data, standard fieldwork.

2012-08-09 I arrived about noontime PDT with Sara and Cove. It was clear, sunny and really hot with just a breath of an occasional breeze. The rice still looks weedy and patchy along the edges. I checked the systems and all seemed well. I collected the 23X data to check on last week’s program change. I tried to swap the 7500A sn 2150 with sn 0065 which I upgraded to a 7500A and calibrated in the lab. I had no trouble with sn 0065 in the lab connected to the 7550 box there, but when I connected it to the 7550 at Twitchell it seemed to cause the 7550 box to enter a rebooting loop. With sn 0065 connected the Ethernet lights would flash and then the USB drive would activate then it seemed to shutoff and reboot doing the same thing again. No problems with sn 2150 attached though. I uploaded the config file with sn 0065’s coefficients and calibration to the 7550 but this seemed to make no difference. In the end I left sn 2150 attached and reloaded its coefficients and calibrations to the 7550. I added bird spike to the top of the 7700’s sun cap. The RSSI was 46 before cleaning and 69 afterwards. The wash reservoir was nearly full. |
