Summary: Naama did an EMI survey, tower computer had crashed and would not reboot, brought in diffuse PAR sensor for cable repair.

2012-04-19 I arrived about 9:30PDT with Siyan, Naama and Rohna after dropping Laurie off at Tonzi. It was clear, sunny and warm with a light westerly breeze. Everything is very green. The trees don't look completely leafed out et to me. There are still big puddles on the road and the water hole is completely full. I got Naama started with an EMI survey over a 200x200m grid roughly centered on the tower. The tower computer was hung up in a restart. I tried all sorts of things to get it to reboot, but failed. We removed the computer for repair work in the lab. I was able to recover data up until the 16th from the disk in the lab. The data logger and multiplexor seemed to be running okay. I down loaded all the data from the CR23X. The cable for the diffuse PAR sensor needed repair, so we removed the sensor and cable to bring back to the lab. The pyranometer on the tower still has condensation in its dome. Siyan downloaded data from the soil CO2 CR10X. The Moisture Point reader had a dead battery. The soil co2 system has three transmitter with LCDs. Readings from the LCDs vs the data logger voltages: Probe Depth LDC voltage II-2 4cm 3930ppm 940mV II-3 8cm 1.24% 997 III-3 8cm 0.51% 571 The solar system read 13.7V, 12.8A solar, 1.4A load Siyan and I left for Tnozi about 11:30 leaving Naama and Rohna to do the EMI survey. |
