Summary: New soil CO2 equipment setup but probes not in ground, Met AM16/32 having problems.
| Varia 2012-02-16 I arrived about 9:00 with Siyan. It was clear and sunny with little to no wind. The hills are finally looking greener, but the pasture is still pretty worked over by the cows. There were a couple of puddles in the road and water in the water hole, but the ground still feels hard. We installed the new soil CO2 equipment, however, we are still waiting for longer cables to install the probes in the ground. A new box was installed on a fence post near the middle of the extended cow fence to the north. A set of two 75W solar panels, sn 020854E-6-03-02-06905 and sn 020854E-6-03-02-06862, charge controller sn 03220377, and two pairs of deep cycle batteries sn BB-VR_soilco2 were installed to the west of the existing solar panels. I messed up and did not wire the solar panels for 24V operation. The charge controller might be able to handle it though. I could not get the tower computer to connect to the new soil CO2 CR10X. The netbook connected just fine. It may be a problem with the USB to serial adapter. The CR10X should have enough memory to run a few weeks before overwriting data. We noticed that one channel on the CNR1 was not reporting. I found the cable pinched in the box door, but it didn�t look damaged. I cut out the part that got pinched and rewired it, but it did not fix the problem. Looking at the data there is bad data in the HMP45 air temp, LED channes, CNR1 channels, and SHF3. I�m not sure what is going on here. |
