Summary: LGR locked up, tube broken and fixed, DO sensor brought in.

2011-09-22 I arrived about 7:30PST with Jaclyn and Emily G. It was clear, sunny and cool with a very light breeze from the west. The rice is beginning to yellow. The birds are swarming the north check of field 1. From our tower we could hear the recorded calls of a bird of prey that is supposed to scare of the black birds. No black birds near our tower. When we got there the LGR was locked up. The screen was on but no change in the data, no mouse or keyboard response and no data in the CR1000. I did a hard restart by pulling the power cord. The LGR read 7:24PST, 24.84C, 140.30Torr, 14.559usec, 10Hz, 1.942ppm We also discovered that the tubing had broken again just above the T at the tower. I replaced the tubing with a piece left from last time. Afterwards almost no change in values: pressure went to 139.11 and CH4 went to 1.921ppm. Jaclyn cleaned the radiometers. She said there was something that looked like blood near the net radiometer. The rain bucket was clear. I knocked down some weeds near the rain bucket. We pulled out the DO sensor and brought it in for a check since the field it drained. It will go back out after winter flood up. |
