Summary: Continue to move Tule Tower to new Scaffold tower. Main tower okay.

2011-09-02 I arrived about 12 noon PDT with Jaclyn and Cristina. It was clear, sunny and hot. There was a light breeze from the west. The weeds are getting tall around the tower and solar panels again. We continued to work on moving the Tule tower sensors from the tripod to the new scaffolding. Jaclyn unwired everything and I moved the radiometers to the scaffold. One of the TC stings was recovered whole and rewired, but not reinstalled in the soil/water column. The radiometers were all reconnected as were the two DO sensors. One of the IRT sensors was reconnected, but the other was brought to lengthen the cable. A soil heat flux plate was brought in because the cable insulation was rotting away. One string of TCs was brought in because the dowel broke and the wires might be too short. The Tule TCs were left in place but need to be lengthened before they can be reconnected. The solar panel and battery was moved to the scaffolding and reconnected. Things at the main tower were okay. Auto cam was running. |
