I arrived about 9:30PDT with Jaclyn and Cristina. It was clear sunny and warm with a breeze from the west. The rice is heavy with seed. The water was turned off this passed Tuesday. The water level in the northern check of Field 1 is much lower, but our check still has some standing water. Jim says in about 12 days it will by dry enough to walk in without boots.

All systems seemed okay. LGR reported:
8:32PST, 25.60C, 136.37Torr, 13.290usec, 10Hz, 2.095ppm

I adjusted the bypass valve to about 148Torr.

I went to the USGS ponds while Jaclyn did field work and Cristina install a water flow sensor. I picked up our single channel LGR FMA sn 05-0010, our rotary vane vacume pump, Frank’s LGR FGGA sn 09-0011, and some fitting that Frank borrowed during their chamber campaign the last two weeks.

Jaclyn took clip plots for biomass/LAI measurement in the lab, took measurements along the 100m LAI-2000 transect, and took canopy spectral reflectance measurements. The batteries within the LAI-2000 were found to be leaking acid into the instrument, and Joe is going to search for a different power solution that is unreliant on acid batteries.
