Twitchell Rice: 2011-07-21 13:30:00 (DOY 202)
Author: Joe Verfaillie

Summary: LGR screen died, changed pyranometer desiccant.
Twitchell,
2011-07-21 I arrived about 1:30pm PDT with Jaclyn, Jose and Maribel. It was clear, sunny and hot. The morning breeze hard largely died. The rice looked a little burned, but not bad. I was expecting to see more damage from the herbicide they sprayed two weeks ago, but such damage was not evident. The weeds in the field have gone to seed. We stopped at Frank’s site to drop off his LI7500 and to check on his LGR about 1pm PDT. Then we stopped at the trailer before heading to our site. The screen for the LGR was not working. The image fluttered with horizontal lines. I tested it with the netbook with the same result so I’m pretty sure it’s the screen. I could see the LGR values on the CR1000 in Loggernet so it seemed to be running okay: ~12:30PST, 27.85C, 130.58Torr, 16.06usec, 10Hz, 1.96ppm I adjusted the bypass valve to get a pressure of 145.10Torr. Loggernet had been writing the CR1000 data to a single file in the C: drive and ran out of disk space there. I moved the ~800MB file off the C drive and reset the CR1000 file location in Loggernet. I swapped cards and copied data. Jaclyn cleaned the radiation sensors and said that the net was pretty dirty on top. I changed the desiccant in the pyranometer. |
