Summary: Removed 2007 data from computer, standard field work.

4/15/2011 I arrived at Vaira with Siyan (and Sunny and Alex) about 11am. It was warm and sunny with a little breeze from the northwest. There were high thin clouds. Things have dried off quite a bit. Puddles in the road are now dry. The trees have put on leaves fast maybe close to 80% complete now. Some of the grass has seed heads. The grass doesn’t seem to be as big and abundant as last year, maybe due to cooler and wetter spring? I moved the 2007 archived data of the computer and there is now 13GB of free space on the drive. I left the zipping software in the 2008 folders, but I don’t think I will remove more archived data until the disk space get small again. I also copied the latest data. I did the Moisture Point measurements. A couple of the new probes are still reporting low values for some segments. Maybe rocky areas are reducing the soil moisture? I checked the computer clock against my cell phone and rest the time from 10:41 to 10:37. |
