Summary: Installed Tule tower, collected data
| Mayberry 3/1/2011 I arrive about noontime with Jaclyn. It was sunny and warm with no wind. Later a light wind picked up from the east. Bryan has placed safflower bales around the perimeter of our island to prevent erosion. We met Bryan there and he said the water level will stay pretty much where it is indefinitely. He might drop it a few inches to encourage the tules, but expects it to rise as the tules take over in the long term. All was well at the main tower. We collected the data and swapped cards. The LI7700 RSSI was down to 39% and Jaclyn cleaned the mirror resulting in an RSSI of about 80%. The washer reservoir is empty and I unplugged it. We need to refill with DI water. We installed a new tower about 65m northwest of the existing tower. The new tower is in about 1m of water at the edge of an existing tule patch and a deeper channel. The new tower has the following equipment: K&Z NR-LITE Over tules sn 990352 maybe sn 041556 K&Z PAR-LITE Over tules sn 10163 Apogee IRT Over tules sn 1281 Hukseflux SHF In tules sn 000141 Campbell DO In tules sn DO-3 K&Z NR-LITE Over water sn 990350 K&Z PAR-LITE Over water sn 10162 Apogee IRT Over water sn 1282 K&Z PAR-LITE Incoming sn 010161 Hukseflux SHF In water sn 00067 Campbell DO In water ?? 25 Thermocouples CR10x AM25T sn 2424 AM1632 sn 3052 We need to measure heights of things and double check serial numbers The soil temperatures need to be redone. The wooden dowels broke. Longer, thick, stronger dowels are needed. The cable for the tule NR-LITE needs to be disconnected and untangled. The grounding wires for the multiplexors need to be connected inside the box. I need to get a solar panel and charger controller. |
