Summary: Replaced HMP45 shield but fan still not working, swapped CNR1, collected data.

3/1/2011 I arrived about 10:30 with Jaclyn. It was sunny and warm with almost no wind. The cows are very hungry and came to see us as we entered the field and stood around the tower as we began to work. Then Walt came and fed the cows in the middle third of the field north of the tower. There are signs that the cows have been fed just south of the tower as well. The cows have really mowed the field. There is no standing litter outside our cow fence. Green grass covers most of the field but it has been mowed to a cm or so. The computer restarted a couple of times while I was copying data. Not sure why. But otherwise seemed okay. I swapped the HMP45 shield, but the fan on the one I though was new did not work either. I need to replace the fan and swap it again next time. The PRT on the CNR1 has been bad for a while. We swapped the CNR1 (sn 020476 out) with the one that was in the lab (sn 990181 in). Need to check the new one to make sure all the channels are working. The soil CO2 23x is still acting bad. It reports many internal errors and the internal lithium battery is very low. I need to build a box with a 10x and multiplexor to swap it out next time. |
