Summary: Moved soil sensors under tower, field tilled later, standard data collection
Bouldin Corn 2025-04-17 I arrived at about 12:48 PDT. It was cool with a low overcast and some drizzle on the coast. Lots of the fields have been tilled and there are tractors working here and there. Our field was unplowed but Charlotte had removed her chambers and there was a tractor working in our block of four fields. Another guy and tractor were spraying the weeds along the ditch. On my way home on the highway after BA it looked like our field was completely tilled. I dug up our soil sensors and moved them under the tower. There was lots of thick grass there that I tried to pull and expose the soil before I reinstalled the sensors. I also pulled some of Charlotte's cables back away from the field a bit more and marked the safe boundary for plowing with some flagging I found. I did the standard data collection collecting the met, flux, camera and Purple Air data. The 7500 read: 424.8ppm CO2, 505.7mmol/m3 H2O, 19.6C, 101.4kPa, 97.3SS - 99.2 after cleaning The 7700 read: 2.06ppm CH4, 53.0RSSI - 81.3 after cleaning. I don't remember refilling the wash reservoir. I cleaned the radiometers. I checked the Stardot timing but didn't change it (0400 to 2200). The focus is a bit funky too but hard to see the screen and didn't want to mess with it when the tractor work is incoming. I didn't measure the water level in the well, but when I pulled the TC profiles there was a wet sound at the bottom of the 32cm sticks. I left at about 13:48 PDT |
