Summary: Field getting mowed around us, trimmed alfalfa under tower
2024-06-03 Bouldin Alfalfa Arman and I arrived at 14:05 PST (15:05 PDT). It was warm and breezy with a thin layer of gauzy cirrus clouds that covered most of the sky. A mower had just started working on our field when we drove up to the field. We waited a while for the mower to finish the edges, then drove into the field on the mowed strip and parked right behind the solar panels. The mower came by us twice more while we were there, mowing just east and then just west of the tower. At first I stood under the tower when the mower came by, thinking that I was out of the way, but the driver indicated for me to get farther away. I realized it was because of the alfalfa spray on either side of the mower. Arman and I trimmed all of the alfalfa under and around the tower that the mower left behind. I downloaded met, cam, USB GHG, and FD data. There were the expected photos on the camera card, so all seems ok after we missed photos last time. I changed the eddy clock from 14:15 to 14:17 PST to match the laptop time and restarted logging. Arman took veg height measurements. I took spectral measurements and cleaned flux and rad sensors. The 7500 read: 413ppm CO2, 696mmol/m3 H2O, 26.5C, 102kPa, 104SS—107 after cleaning I reset the SS from 107 to 100 after cleaning. We left at 14:55 PST (15:55 PDT). |
