Robert and I arrived at 11:50 PDT. It was a lovely spring day, sunny and cool with a gusty breeze. The grass on the interior levee road was super tall, at least waist height on me. Driving through in a rental Corolla felt like kayaking in a sea of grass.

We passed 3 folks from Solano RCD doing weed mapping—they said they’re out here a few times a year, especially in the late winter and spring to manage mowing/grazing and spraying. Sounds like there was a miscommunication recently so the sheep/goats were somewhere they weren’t supposed to be.

At the main Sherman gate, we also passed someone with Mosquito and Vector control. They reported that there were some mosquitoes in the ditches, but not too much in the low-lying areas. To treat the mosquitoes, they apply a granule that dissolves into the water and kills larvae upon ingestion. The granule treatment is active for 28 days.

I downloaded met, cam, and USB GHG data. I set the eddy clock forward +30sec around 10:55 PST to match the laptop time and restarted logging. All looked ok. Robert cleaned flux and rad sensors. The reservoir was ½ full; Robert refilled it. The staff gauge read 45cm.

The 7500 read: 435ppm CO2, 496mmol/m3 H2O, 24.3C, 100.7kPa, 100SS – 101 after cleaning
The 7700 read: 2.04ppm CH4, 64RSSI – 85 after cleaning

We left at 12:05 PDT.
