Summary: Regular data collection/cleaning, tower has slight tilt--fixed, tractor work probably starting soon, weeds in field
2023-04-25 Bouldin Corn Robert and I arrived at 14:10 PDT. Some of the fields off of Hwy 12 are getting worked, but no new developments near our tower yet. Our field is starting to green up with short weeds. It was windy and mostly sunny with some cirrus clouds overhead. Charlotte’s chambers were still in the field. We should start thinking about moving our equipment back in the next few weeks to make sure the farmers plant right up to the tower. Driving up to the tower, Robert noticed the tower is tilted toward the east. Probably from the eastern feet sinking slightly more than the other side. He leveled the tower by adjusting the feet. Afterwards, we checked that the rad boom and sonic were both level. He tightened all of the tie-downs. I downloaded the usual data, met, cam USB GHG, FD, PA, and IRT. The eddy clock was ok so I didn’t adjust it. On the 7550, there was a slow LED blink error when I hit “Eject”, but there was no issue reading the USB on the laptop and the data seemed complete. I reset the 7550 box and all looked ok. I cleaned the flux and rad sensors. The 7500 read: 397ppm CO2, 314mmol/m3 H2O, 26.9C, 101.2kPa, 99SS—101 after cleaning The 7700 read: 1.95ppm CH4, 38RSSI—82 after cleaning We left at 14:40 PDT and drove the back way to the alfalfa site. |
