I arrived at 14:50 PDT. Today is an off-cycle visit since I will be out of town next week. It was windy and gusty, and mostly sunny with some cirrus and cumulus clouds. The alfalfa has grown appreciably in the last week and the weeds are not as obvious. There is a bare patch right in front of the tower, which is also the majority of the phenocam view. So for now, the phenocam’s GCC is probably lower than the rest of the field. I pulled two armfuls of weeds from around the tower.

I downloaded met, cam, USB GHG, FD, and IRT data.

The FD data still looks bad, very noisy. I laid the chamber on its side and ran a performance check—the check produced 2 alerts, including significant noise around 0. I decided to remove the chamber eosFD sn FD20160001 to bring back to the lab. Probably needs to go back to the factory. The cable is still on the tower and I unplugged its power.

I cleaned flux and rad sensors and added bird spikes to Licor’s ET sensor. I did see evidence of bird feet on the top bar of the sensor, but the sensor itself looked fine. The filter on the bottom also looked ok.

I swapped the LI-7500A for calibration: sn 0073 came off and sn 0035 went on. I uploaded the new config file, updated the pressure coefficients, changed the eddy clock +30sec from 14:34:30 to 14:35 to match the laptop time and reset the 7550. All looked ok.
