Summary: Regular data collection/cleaning, lots of water in the wetland
2023-03-02 East End Kyle and I arrived at 14:15 PST. It was mostly calm and sunny with some thin clouds in the blue sky. We could hear various birds while we were here. The gravel pad with the drilling equipment is even more flooded with the recent rains. There was about 5cm of rain last week, and more rain is expected at the end of next week. There is lots of water in this wetland today! The staff gauge read 81cm. The wash reservoir was empty; Kyle refilled it. This reservoir is still leaking and needs more attention. I downloaded met, cam, USB GHG, and miniDOT data. Kyle cleaned flux and rad sensors. I swapped desiccants for the miniDOT and water level sensors. The 7500 read: 430ppm CO2, 290mmol/m3 H2O, 18.4C, 101.9kPa, 99SS – 100 after cleaning The 7700 read: 1.99ppm CH4, 50SS – 75 after cleaning We left at 14:35 PST. On our drive out, Kyle saw a burrowing owl in our old Twitchell Alfalfa field. Wikipedia told us that burrowing owls are active during the day, unlike most owls. |
