Summary: 7550 box door open and inside wet but still running, Diffuse PAR tilted south, pulled (raked) some water weeds near Flo.

Gilbert Tract
2022-12-13

I arrived at about 9:50. There were a couple of guys pulling weeds along the levee south of the tower. It was clear and cold with little to no wind – I had to scape ice off car windows this morning. Tide was relatively high and ebbing. The water level was 70.95 at 10:15. Water weeds all over the last boardwalk segment. The boardwalks need some work to level and stabilize them.

The door to the li-7550 box was ajar. The bottom connector board had some corrosion and there was water pooled in the bottom. I dismounted the box, dumped the water out and use canned air to blow out some more. The lights were all blinking normally. Initially I was not able to connect to the box by Ethernet, but I think it was a laptop problem as restarting the laptop seemed to fix it. I didn’t dare turn it off. I put some small packs of desiccant in the box, closed the door and will keep fingers crossed.

The 7500 read: 409.8ppm CO2, 310.0mmol/m3 H2O, 9.3C, 102.0kPa, 104.7SS
The 7700 read: 2.05ppm CH4, 39.0RSSI – 1.89ppm CH4, 62.5 after cleaning.
I refilled the wash reservoir by one half.

I collected USB, camera, met and minidot data. I checked the tipping bucket – it looked ok.

The screws on the bottom of the diffuse PAR motor box were loose allowing it to tilt a little south. I tighten the screws and it was much more level.

I removed the Arable Mark I unit sn A001911. It hasn't been sending consistent data and Arable is no longer supporting it

The radiation boom could use a new pin bolt with a better handle.

I left some moth balls in the data logger box just in case.

I arrived at Flo about 10:45. With consultation with Daphne I think I got the data downloaded and logging restarted. Tide was pretty high and I couldn’t see the side looker but I put on waders and tried out the new telescoping rake. I pulled up some weeds but I think I could only reach the upped edge of the concrete panels we put down. Low tide would be a better time.

I left at 11:10
