Summary: Standard data collection, checked 7700 wash cycle - seems okay, low tide.

Hill Slough
2022-05-27

Carlos and I arrived at about 9:15 PDT. It was cool and thinly overcast and super windy. There was a halo around the sun for most of the morning. Tide was low with water level at 3.9ft at about 9:30 – below the bottom of the staff gauge. There is a big patch of tules growing at the beginning of the boardwalk. The combo lock at the tower was set to all zeros – someone trying to get in?

This was just a standard data collection stop.
The 7500 read: 404.3ppm CO2, 598.0mmol/m3 H2O, 15.9C, 101.8kPa, 96.8SS – 98.0 after cleaning
The 7700 read: 1.93ppm CH4, 40.0RSSI – 73.1 after cleaning
The wash reservoir was refilled 1/4. Daphne said that the RSSI did not seem to be rising very much after an auto cleaning cycle, so we did a manual wash and spin to check (Carlos has a video). All seemed well. There was a patch of spider web on the top mirror that might have been an issue.

The CTD seems to be working well but the bottom of it is covered by debris in its shallow depression. Hopefully we will soon have water level from the YSI EXO in the channel to get the low tide water levels.

The Picam got almost to the end of it 2GB download on the other computer then crashed. So we had to do the entire download again. I meant to bring the new improved FWB code but forgot. With the new code maybe we can do away with the auto white balance photos and cut the download in half. Also I might be able to make multiple download links so you can do smaller pieces independently so you one have to redo as much if one crashes part way through.

We left at about 10:45
