Bouldin Alfalfa

Ari and I arrived at 9:30 PDT to the bouncer tower. It was warming up, but still comfortable in the shade. The horizons were hazy and there was a slight breeze. The alfalfa is knee/thigh high and ready for harvesting. The fields north of us were already mowed and baled. We prophylactically trimmed the alfalfa under the bouncer tower, the PL Arable post, and the main tower because I think they will mow soon. Joeâ€™s serrated sickle and a pair of grass shears both work better than the hedge shears.

I downloaded the bouncer data by swapping microSD cards and using CardConvert to convert the card data to the laptop. We cleaned the small solar panel, which had some bird poop.

We arrived at the main tower at 9:50 PDT. I downloaded met, camera, and USB GHG data. I had trouble connecting to the 7550 at first, but I think I had not properly plugged in the USB end of the USB-ethernet dongle. The number of 7550 files seemed reasonable and the eddy clocks looked good. I also checked the 10sec Temp/RH data on the camera card, which looked reasonable.

I downloaded the FD data and cleared its memory. I downloaded the IRT data by swapping microSD cards and using CardConvert to convert the fast data to TOB1 and the slow data to TOA5.

Ari cleaned flux and rad sensors, took spectral measurements, and took veg height measurements.
