Summary: Hot but no smoke, updated met program for Apogee NDVI, swapped phenocam.

I arrive at about 14:00. It was clear, sunny and hot. It was hazy but I didnâ€™t smell any smoke in the air. The alfalfa is about knee high and sparser than usual but flowering. I think it has been stressed by the recent heat. There was a little water in the ditch by the side of our field and more water in a ditch next to the field to the east.

This was a quick stop to fix the met program for the new Apogee NDVI sensors and swap the Phenocam.

The met program was only recording two of the four NDVI channels from the Apogee sensors. I just duplicated the input and output variables â€“ the rest of the code was okay. I collected the met and uploaded the new program then collected some more met just before I left with the new program running.

The Phenocam project asked for us to update the stardot camera with the latest scripts that produce a metadata file for each image. The easiest way to do this was to set up a spare camera in the lab and swap them out. Sn 0030F4D214A4 came down and sn 0030F4D21525 went up. I brought an Ethernet switch with a lithium battery pack to check the camera but didnâ€™t have enough Ethernet cables to plug the camera, computer and CR1000 all in at the same time. I checked the camera with the computer â€“all seemed well. Then I plugged the camera into the CR1000 with fingers crossed.

The 7700 RSSI and 7500 SS were okay but I cleaned them anyway.

I left at about 15:00
