Summary: A Ci curves, LAI and biomass measurements

Cassie and I arrived at 8:30 AM. We set up the machine for measurements and started the first leaf at 9:00 AM. The sky fluctuated between partially cloudy and overcast throughout the day. The sky became fully overcast around 11 AM, the time at which I took LAI measurements. Because it was fairly overcast no scattering file was created. Five leaves were sampled with the LI-6400 following the normal procedure with concentrations of CO2 being used: 400,300,200,150,100,75,40,10,400,500,600,800,1000,1300 ppm. The light was kept at 1800 umol m-2 s-1. After the curve was completed, chlorophyll content was measured and the leaf was harvested and brought to the lab. The machine was recalibrated around 11:30 AM due to an observable offset in CO2 concentrations. The lowest CO2 values for leaf 3 may not be very accurate. I finished doing curves at 1 PM, and after this biomass was collected. 5 plants were harvested and taken to the lab following the standard procedure. We left around 2 pm.
