Summary: The grass is dead, added PAR sensors to compare before swap, all seems well.

Kyoko, Hisashi and I arrived at 11:00. Siyan had been there since 10:30. It was a mild day with a high thin overcast and a strong gusty wind from the east southeast. There was a faint hint of smoke in the air and later from Tonzi we could see a fire burning to the northwest. The grass is pretty much completely dead. Only a few hints of green from some of the hardier natives. The water hole still had water.

When we arrived Siyan had walked to the pond to collect the depth data there. She said there was water in the stream from the pond that crosses the road. She had already done the well and soil moisture measurements.

I added two PAR sensors to the tower. The cables on the old ones have been rotting away for years and Siyan sees some noise and is worried about a drift. The new sensors have temporary mounts using a C-clamp and cable ties. After a couple weeks of side-by-side data, Iâ€™ll remove the old ones and permanently mount the new ones. The new sensors are sn 140455 mounted in the incoming position and sn 161073 mounted in the reflected position. I collected the data, downloaded a copy of the program and edited it to add the two PAR sensors to the end of the multiplexor. The data looked okay after uploading the new program. The new PAR data is output in the 30min table at the end of the other averages and before the standard deviations.

I collected the eddy data, camera images and soil co2. At first the soil co2 did not connect so I checked on its power which seemed okay. On the second collection try all seemed normal.

The 7500 read: 414.1ppm CO2, 426.0mmol/m3 H2O, 99.7kPa, 26.7C, 98.8SS
