Author: Daphne Szutu
Others: Kuno, Camilo
Summary: Regular data collection/cleaning, fluorometer disconnected--fixed, dead muskrat in water
2019-02-12 Mayberry Kuno, Camilo, and I arrived at 10:52. It was cold, cloudy, and gray. There was a dead rodent (nutria?) with two prominent orange teeth in the water by the tower. The water level was 55 cm. I collected met, camera, and USB GHG data. Kuno collected water samples for Isabel at 10:55. The wash reservoir was ½ full; we refilled it. There has been no fluorometer data since 2019-01-31. We pulled the floating boom up and checked the cable. When we reconnected the cable, the fluorometer began recording data again. Camilo got in the water to get bubbles out. LI-7500 readings: CO2 436ppm H2O 336ppm T 6.4C P 101.7kPa SS 102--> 103 LI7700 readings: CH4 2.7ppm RSSI 55 --> 81 after cleaning We left at 11:20. |

Inspecting a rodent we found floating in front of the MB tower. It ended up being a muskrat, not a nutria.

Close up of rodent/nutria we found in front of MB tower. About 30 cm long and had distinctive orange buck teeth. It ended up being a muskrat.
