Summary: Upgrade 7550 firmware and swapped 7500, removed bottom water CO2 sensor and middle miniDot, took water sample, rewired met sensors to avoid spiking.

Ada, Daphne and I arrived about 10:30. It was cool, sunny and breezy. It looks like the cattails have sent up a new batch of shoots. There are new green blades that don’t have caterpillar chews along the edges and the overall wetland looks a bit greener. The waster still looks brown but the water samples are clear and not tinted as before.

The 7550 sn AIU-1285 firmware was upgraded from v8.0.0 to v8.7.5 and the head was swapped.

The 7700 temp sensor needs a new piece of tubing to protect it – the old one is crumbling.

We serviced the water sensors. The top CO2 sensors is wired as #3, middle is #2 and the bottom CO2 sensor is #1 but due to the low water was folded up to be at the same level as the top CO2 sensor. Because we only have two miniDot O2 sensors here now, I removed the bottom CO2 sensor (sn GP20150111). We collected the miniDot O2 data. The middle miniDot sn 1220 had a barnacle on is sensor window. I didn’t know what it was at first but then saw a couple more on the fluorometer. I still don’t know how to get the barnacle off without damaging the sensor widow, so we brought the miniDot sn 1220 in for maintenance.

There have been spikes in some of the met channels. We moved the SWout and AtmP to new channels to see if the multiplexer has bad channels. The met program was updated to reflect the changes in wiring. SWout moved from mux channel 14 to 23, LWin/out moved from mux channels 19/20 to 24/25, and the Vaisala PTB110 moved from mux channel 21 to CR1000 channel 7. Mux ports 14-16, 19-22 are empty.

We took water sample for both Isabel and Sam at about 10:30. However, I dropped and broke all three of Isabel’s sample upon returning to the lab. New sample will be taken tomorrow.
