Summary: Hot and dry, pond radio not making connection, no manual soil moisture due to low battery.

I arrived about 9:00 with Siyan. It was clear, sunny and hot with a little breeze. The ground and grass are crispy dry. The water hole is still mostly full and there is a bit of green in the low spot by the gate.

We went to the pond since it hasnâ€™t sent data for a few days. The antenna was bent over like a bird had been sitting it. I straightened the antenna and collected data directly from the data logger. The water level continues to fall (18.24 feet) exposing half of the second staff gauge.

Back at the tower there was still no connection to the pond. I raised the antenna temporarily, restarted the modem and use the netbook connected directly to the modem but still no connection. Next time I will take that radio over to the pond and test it there.

The Moisture Point meter was acting funny due to super low battery â€“ so no manual soil moisture. Also the top pin of the probe near the solar panels is broken.

I collected the data. We donâ€™t have a spare USB drive right now so we ejected the drive, moved the files off and reinserted it.

I moved the Licor box down a little bit so the door opens fully. It was being blocked by the tripod leg.
