Summary: Tower pc enclosure replaced; installed reflective insulation; systems running smoothly.
| 18Jul01 -05:22 arrive Vaira pc running but gillsonic.exe frozen pc crashes at precise time pc208w attempts communication with the dataloggers restore full permissions to all folders, files and users in win2K administrative tools - run gillsonic.exe with pc208 set to communicate to data loggers at 12:02 leave Vaira 11:45 arrive Tonzi site tower pc running and collecting data replace tower pc enclosure (3" fan) install reflective insulation on floor pc enclosure floor pc running and collecting data leave site 1300 arrive Vaira pc running but gillsonic.exe frozen at precise time of pc208w task setting reinstall Windows 2K on pc and all associated programs, drivers, folders, files, etc... - no help pc still crashes when pc208w tries to communicate with data loggers remove internal batteries from 23x at vaira down to 6 volts - data logger power switch in off position so these batteries were not being used or charged - running directly off solar/battery arrays cr10x also running directly off solar/battery arrays gillsonic continues to crash due to pc208w use windows Administrative Tools and Device Manager to access Interrupt Request parameters for com ports 1 & 3 com 1 IRQ=4 com 3 IRQ=4 this was the problem change to com 1 IRQ=4 com 3 IRQ=7 - 14:23 reboot pc and start pc208 and gillsonic.exe - OK pc208 no longer crashing gillsonic program IT APPEARS THAT THE IOSOCKET PCMCIA CARDS SOFTWARE DRIVER DOES NOT ALWAYS INSTALL THE CORRECT INTERRUPT REQUEST PARAMETERS IN WINDOWS 2K--- USING THE SAME IRQ FOR 2 DIFFERENT COM PORTS IS A CONFLICT Also: upon switching laptops at a site the pcmcia IOSOCKET card IRQ parameters may have to be changed to specific values for different cards leave site - 14:45 arrive Tonzi site perform general site clean up, drop off IRGAs for Liukang tomorrow and leave cell phone in tower pc enclosure leave site |
