Summary: Site quickly greening. Algae blooms in open water. Did minor maintenance. Took new GPS reading of tower.
Mayberry 2014-04-10 We arrived around 10:45 PDT. It was sunny and warm. The vegetation is really taking off, lots more green. Also a lot of algae blooms in the open water. Sara and I attended to the tower and downloaded data while Joe did some cleanup on the berm. I drilled a larger hole for the pin in flux instrument pole. It should be easier to raise and lower the instruments now. The thermocouple shield in the 7700 path broke. Need replacement. I took a GPS reading of the new tower location, averaging measurements over 2 minutes: 38.049867° N 121.765017° W 7500 readings: CO2: 428 ppm (same after cleaning) H2O: 591 mmol m-3 (same after cleaning) signal strength = 88.2% (89.2% after cleaning) t: 18.6 °C p = 101.6 kPa sos = 343.2 m s-1 Current 7700 readings: CH4 = 1.98 ppm RSSI = 40 % (89% after cleaning) Reservoir was full. Met looked great. Cleaned radiation sensors. |
