Summary: Installed LI820 in tower profile system, checked MD9 network with little success, BF5 output looked okay, tram seemed okay.
Tonzi 2013-05-15 I arrived about 11:00PDT. It was mostly sunny, clear and warm with a nice breeze. Later, haze seemed to move in from the west. The ground here is dry and dusty too. A shower of seeds was knocked loose with each step through the dry grass. There are a few late flowers here and there. I installed the Li820 in the CO2 profile system. I did not know the settings for the DACs so I guessed. DAC1 0 to 2.5V is 0 to 500ppm, DAC2 0 to 2.5V is 90 to 120kPa. The numbers in Loggernet looked close but not perfect. I will probably have to fix these next week and then fix the week of data. The IRGA calibrated well, but the interface is not as nice as the LI800s. Last cal was 2012-08-29, the N2 for zero had 2200psi and the CO2 for span was 404.02ppm at 1900psi. Zero was -3.5 off and the new coefficient was 0.8810. Span was +2ppm off. The old coefficient was 0.8495 and the new one was 0.8447. I tried to trouble shoot the MD9 network. It had not connected since Siyan was here last week. I traced all the lines. I added terminators of the ends and disconnected a dead branch from the tower top CR23x. I found a bad connector near the water potential table. I replaced the connector, pulled some extra cable back to the floor tower and put in a piece of conduit to fix a gap. At the floor I swapped out the master MD9, the SC532 and cable. I was able to connect with the replacements for these modules, but then I swapped them back and was still able to connect. But then later the old modules refused to connect again. I left the old modules in place and everything connected hoping it would fix itself. If it continues to be a problem I will have to replace all the cable or try a wireless solution, or I might put another master at the tower and break the system into two separate networks. I snipped some samples of leaves for Martin. I cleaned the z-cam windows. I checked the output from the BF5 diffuse sensor. It was outputting 1900 mV which jives with PAR. Ill have to look at the data again. Tram data looked current and complete. |
