Summary: Swapped CR1000 with Raspberry Pi to collect phenocam photos.
| Vaira 2013-05-15 I arrived about 10:00PDT. It was mostly clear and sunny with a nice breeze and a few high, thin clouds. The grass is mostly yellow with a sprinkling of green here and there. The water hole is about half full. Over all it looks dry and dusty except for the trees. I removed the CR1000 (sn 47108 with NL115 6761) that was being used to collect images from the phenocam. I was able to recover about half the images lost last week when the USB stick they were on was broken before they could be transferred off. I also downloaded data from both data loggers for the same reason. I replaced the CR1000 with a Raspberry Pi. I changed the ftp settings on the Phenocam and it seemed to work just fine I saw one pair of images transferred. I still need to work on the Pi. I could not find an easy way to manually set the time, and having telnet available to talk to the Phenocam would be a good idea. And to disable daylight savings time. The Raspberry Pi is currently mounted where the old compute was mounted, but I think the regular folding and unfolding of the keyboard tray will wear out the cable connections. It might be better to mount it on the side of the box. |
