Summary: Standard fieldwork, Extra grass samples at Vaira


When: Date: 4/10/2013 , Day: 100 ,

Where: Tonzi/Vaira Ranch

Weather: clear, sunny

Phenology: green grasses; oak trees grew; no cows seen at
both sites, but grasses were significantly different inside and outside of the
fence at Vaira, maybe indicating grazing effects.

Summary
  1. Checked and downloaded data from PC at Tower, Floor.

  2. Joe downloaded data at Vaira.

  3. Joe installed 4-way radiaometers and diffusive light
    sensor at Tonzi.

  4. Swapped memory cards of CR1000s at three sites. Everything
    worked well.

  5. Calibrated CO2 profile system; Zero ~10 ppm offset.

  6. Collected grass samples for grass LAI, 3 for open even,
    3 for cow poop spot.

  7. Read dendrometers

  8. Measured soil moisture

  9. Measure groundwater well:

Vaira_Grass Site
  1. Fence and gate power: 12 v.

  2. Panel and Batteries: - v; - amps;
    - amps.

  3. Joe downloaded data and swapped the memory cards of
    CR1000.

  4. Check the fans of air temp and relative humidity sensors
    at Vaira. YES!

  5. Check levels of Radiation sensors, clear up surfaces.YES!

  6. Check rain gage, make sure not clogged. YES!

  7. Closed gate and set up fence. YES!

  8. Collected grass samples for grass LAI.
