West Pond: 2013-01-30 10:35:00 (DOY 30)
Author: Cove Sturtevant
Others: Laurie

Summary: Inlet is NOT RUNNING. Water level low. Lowered DO and CO2 probe to 3 cm under water. All else well.

West Pond
2013-01-30

We arrived around 10:35 PST. It was sunny and nice (~13 °C) with very mild breeze. The inlet showed no flow and the water below the tower was low. The CO2 system and DO probe were out of water by about 3 cm so I lowered them to just above the muck, about 3 cm below the water surface. Laurie took water samples and reported she had a hard time getting clean samples due to the low water level. The site remains very senescent with a lot fallen thatch. I downloaded data and cleaned the flux and radiation instruments.

7500 readings:
CO2 = 441 ppm
H2O = 413.6 mmol m-3
agc = 3.9 (new format, 2.7 after cleaning)
p = 102.85 kPa
sos = 340 m s-1

7700 readings:
CH4 = 2.97 ppm
RSSI = 64, bumped to 80 after cleaning
Reservoir was full.

MET looked good after lowering the water instruments.
