Summary: Computer dead - removed, data okay on data loggers, AM16/32 okay - did not swap.

2013-01-16 I arrived about 9:15 with Siyan. It was clear, sunny and cold with just a breath of a breeze from the south. There was ice on the puddles but the frost had melted off the grass in all places except the deep shadows. The computer was hung up – power light on but no screen. On reboot it didn’t even make it into BIOS just started beeping at about 1Hz. I pulled the computer for testing in the lab. The next day in the lab it booted perfectly fine – maybe cold? All the data was collected on the data loggers, so nothing lost except the phenocam photos. It may be a good time to switch over to the Raspberry Pi system, though I think a full implementation is ways off yet. The AM16/32 multiplexor was okay. I guess it’s not a temperature thing causing it to get off track. I did not swap it. |
