I arrived about 10:30 with Siyan. It was clear and sunny but cool with a breeze from the south. Clouds began to move in from the west. The ground is wet but not soggy yet. There is a big puddle in the low spot of the road. The grass is green and the trees are brown or leafless.

I worked on mounting the LED sensor that Youngryel sent. I got is mounted, wired and the tower top 23x reprogramed but then the sensor did not work. It seems there is a bad solder joint on the power board. I removed it for a check out in the lab. At least everything is ready to install it next time.

I also removed the ATI sonic and reinstalled the old program on the CR1000.

The radiometer cables at the top of the top tower need replacing. The net radiometer had lost its outer insulation at a bend. I wrapped that section in tape. We should get some split loom to run all those wires in.

The pyranometer had some condensation in its domes. I replaced the desiccant.

The LI800 for the CO2 profile system was railed again. I tried to reset it and recalibrate but this didn’t work. Later, just before leaving, I pulled it apart and cleaned its path. This worked long enough to calibrate the IRGA but soon after resuming sampling it railed again. I brought it in for a check. I might replace it with the LI820.

I added the Vaisala probes under tree one to the timed power relay. I thought I would need a third relay for the tree one box but decided I could use the relay in the open box. I used the idle data line to run 24VDC from the relay in the open box back to the tree one location.

The tower computer was about 5 minutes slow. Just after 2pm I reset it to cell phone time.

The tram was running.
