Summary: Lots of brown leaves, midday water potential, standard field work, Martin did leaf survey.

Weather: clear, sunny
Phenology: beautiful golden grassland; oak leaf senescence started, a lot of borrow leaves in the canopy. Some trees on the highland had borrow leaves almost all over the whole canopy. Maybe because extremely dry winter caused lower water availability in deeper soil layer and groundwater.

  2. measured the midday water potential of oak leaves and pine needles
