Summary: LGR trailer inside cow fence for two day test of CO2 isotopes, fixed computer power, fixed SHF plate 1 upside down, swapped CR1000 card, copied met and soil CO2 data.

2012-03-29 I arrived about 11:30 with Aaron and Dr Feng from LGR. It was warm with hazy sun and little to no wind. Before I left overcast moved in from the west and a west wind picked up. Under the still conditions there were lots of flying insects on the boxes and in the air near the tower. The ditch near the road was full. The field was damp but not to soggy for the truck and trailer to get in. The grass is green and the pepper weed it about 20cm outside the cow fence. Inside the fence the peeper weed is more like 50 cm. LGR is at the site to test out new CO2 isotope analyzers. They will be there until Friday evening or Saturday. They also had a Licor automated soil chamber that they were running through one of their analyzers. They ran a tube from near the bottom of the sonic’s measurement path to their trailer. I also gave them the analog signal from the LI7500’s CO2 channel to record for synchronization of data. Hopefully the will copy the overlapping data from our computer when they leave Friday or Saturday. LGR is using the spare 20A AC line. I put the computer on an AC power adapter and it ran well. The battery backup for the DC has fully charged at 13.4V. I swapped the card on the CR1000 so the new data would be easily available to LGR and we wouldn’t lose more than a few days if something went wrong. I copied the missing met and soil CO2 data from last time when we had computer problems. The LI7700 RSSI was okay and the wash reservoir was nearly full. Soil heat flux plate #1 was upside down. Not sure why or when that happened. |
