Summary: Computer power problems - computer left off.

2012-03-20 I arrived about 10:30PDT with Sara and Jaclyn. It was cool, but clearing and getting warm with a light breeze. The field is green but the cows have mowed it flat – almost nothing sticking up from a green carpet of short grass. Inside the cow fence the pepper weed is already better the 20cm tall. The computer seemed to be running but I got nothing on the screen. I tried to reboot the computer but it would start to boot then stop. It seemed that there wasn’t enough power. The battery backup for the 12VDC was low. I left the computer off. I probably need a stronger DC supply out there. I collected the soil CO2 data with the netbook. I thought I got the rest with the site computer but it quit again before all the files transferred. The LI7700 reservoir was only about a quarter low. The RSSI was about 16. Cleaning the mirrors brought it up to 89%. |
