Arrive about 2pm with Hideki and Josep. Clear, sunny, light wind.

Rice is up! Talked to Jim Casey. Says flooding may happen late next week around the 22nd. While much of the rice is a few cm tall, it is somewhat patchy. A small tractor may be in the field before flooding to spray fertilizer. Shouldn't affect soil sensors at the edges of the field.

I plan to get an update from Jim next week to coordinate a visit to move soil sensors into the field and try to fix some remaining problems.

Radiation boom had been turned nearly 180 degrees so that sensors were over the berm near the solar panels. I loosened the boom are returned it to its position over the rice. The orientation of the sonic and IRGA seemed wrong too and markings I had made were in odd alignment as well as cables. After leaving the site I realized the entire vertical poll of the tripod had rotated and not just the boom. I'll realign everything next week.

I removed the big screen and replaced is with small 7" screen. Visibility in bright sunlight did not improve much but discolored lines in the display are gone. Will check the big screen in the lab.

Computer was locked up. Forced restart, Verizon connected and sent data, and web cam transferred image to computer. Still, no uploads since manual one so system may be locked up again or Verizon not working.

I stopped Loggernet from collecting data from CR1000. I thought this might be causing the computer to lock up because with the 2GB cards, the connection to the CR1000 might not be fast enough to ever allow Loggernet to catch up in transferring data. When the scheduled connection time (every 5minutes) arrived Loggernet would still be busy collecting data.
