Summary: Field chopped, reinstalled soil sensors, AC power line cut, radiation boom over field.

2011-11-02 I arrived about 7:00 PST with Siyan. It was clear and cool with almost no wind. The field has been chopped near our tower but they were still chopping the check to the north. They are still harvesting other fields and it doesn?t sounds like they will re-flood the field soon. There is 5 to 10cm of soft rice straw mulch on the field now. When they chopped the area around our tower they also chopped the power line from the generator to our box. Jim said he would try to replace the line later today. Only the Methane should be down, everything else was running on solar. We put new sticks on the soil temperatures and reinstalled them in the field. We also reinstalled the well and the two theta probes. We reinstalled three of the four SHF plates two of which I replaced the cables on. We also reinstalled the tipping bucket that I fixed the cable on. There was no water in the bottom of the well. The bottom of the well is 87cm below the ground surface. The top of the pipe is 32cm above the ground and the pressure sensor is 1m below the top of the pipe. We swung the radiation boom back out over the field. The tube fitting on the top of the T came lose. It was missing one of the farrules. I replaced it with new nut and farrules. |
