Summary: Standard fieldwork, midday water potential.

Weather: the hottest day in this year, nice breeze under
trees
Phenology: Vaira grassland still has green patches. It
is hard to set the ending data of this season. Grassland at Tonzi has more
green area. To me, those still-green plants likely are those germinating much
later, e.g., in Jan. or Feb, than the first group. The first group that
germinated following the first “big” rainfall in the fall has died out. I talked
to Laurie about this, and she didn’t think she noticed such multiple
phonological phases in her costal grassland.
Summary

needle=-3 bar.
- check and download data at Tower, Floor, and Vaira.
Three towers worked well.

- Check levels of Radiation sensors, clear up surfaces.YES!
- Check rain gage, make sure not clogged. YES!

No snap shot, but values looked OK.

- Soil CO2 profile: no power when I got there. I
unplug and re-plug fuses, then the system back to work.
