Summary: High tide, installed EXO after calibration, PG&E working on power lines
2024-10-24 Hill Slough Joe, Kyle, and I arrived at 11:25 PST after visiting Rush Ranch with Patty and her crew. PG&E were working on the power lines to our south, with 2 helicopters removing cable. Water level was high and the staff gauge read 5.05ft at 11:56 PST. Met a man bird watching at our gate, let him wander down the entire boardwalk. He confirmed seeing many of the species Joe thought were there. At the channel, we deployed the freshly calibrated EXO. Because the water level was high, we couldn’t confirm that the sonde was hanging horizontally; I’ll have to double check next time at low water level. We still have a pH probe that we’ll install once we get the EXO at lower elevation. I checked that the data on the CR23x display was reasonable. Sensors added: sn 22C103416 EXO2 sn 22E106072 Turbidity sn 24F104438 fDOM sn 23D104030 Conductivity/Temperature sn 24A100660 wiper I downloaded the miniDOT data (did not swap desiccant). Joe chatted with a bird watcher who was hanging out on our boardwalk. He observed the wind was coming from the NNE. I showed Kyle how to download met, cam, and USB GHG data. Joe cleaned flux and rad sensors. The 7500 read: 421ppm CO2, 233mmol/m3 H2O, 20.9C, 101.8kPa, 98SS - 98 after cleaning The 7700 read: 2.0ppm CH4, 41RSSI - 86 after cleaning I measured porewater and surface water conductivity. Surface, 7.12mS, 19.0C Porewater, 7.60mS, 20.7C We left at 12:05 PST. |
