Summary: Methane not operating, had Bruce Start generator, Tair is dead

Visited the Twitchell Island site around 1300 on Jan 5. The fog was just rising..The field was flooded. Light winds and ended up being clear skies.

Downloaded data and put them on the data server..

Because the generator was not running the pc was not interacting with the campbels..so file

TW_CR23X20110105.dat is a met data with data from d355 2010 to day 4 2011..so the data need to be split

I was surprised not to see the methane sensor running..It looks like the last time there were files on the pc was day 309..so I suspect it has not been operating since then..When Joe returns I'd like to get it up and running again..I was reluctant to start it as all the power cords were pulled in a conscious manner..So I want to double check with Joe...

I was going to swap the pc from the ac to the dc power as it was spizting about and very unstable..it was not interacting with the loggers well..But Bruce stopped by and wanted to know if I wanted the generator up and running..So I said yes..So right not it is just powering the pc..But next week I want the methane going too..

Swapped raw data disks and the new one is on Joes desk.

Pretty muddy..I was able to get to the site..but was reluctant to back up and turn around..so drove down teh rest of the road which was slick as snot..If you have no experience driving on icey roads one can easily end up in the ditch or rice paddy..The trick is drive fast enough not to get stuck and have momentum, but not too fast so you can counter steer when the vehicle lerchers to the right or left..Quite an adventure, but made it unscathed.
