Summary: Sampled porewater sippers

Ngoc and I arrived at the field Friday afternoon. It was warm but not too hot, sunny, and not much wind. I put on the waders and went out to the open-water sippers while Ngoc sat on the boardwalk and recorded the data. We noticed that there appeared to be even more gas being pulled up with the porewater than last time, and started recording the amount of gas per amount of liquid sample. I also noticed more bubbles being released when I walked through the sediment than I remember seeing before.

After doing the open water sippers I sampled the sippers in the vegetated areas. Unfortunately 7 of these were clogged. For the black profile the black-green was easy to sample, so I pulled 60mLs at a time and pushed it into the clogged sippers (Vblackred, Vblackwhite, Vblackblack). For the clogged red profile sippers I pushed 60mLs of surface water into each (Vredyellow, Vredred, Vredwhite, Vredredred). Note that I discovered I had two Vredred sippers, so I added an extra red band to one of them to make it Vredredred.

Ngoc and I left around 5pm. We saw a dead snake in the road on the way back to the gate.
